What words can explain – the joy of a life well lived
And what sentiments could every express the beauty of that person
Who truly lived to give?
No mountain peak nor soaring dove – could mirror the freedom that a heart
feels
When its beat was only with that of love –
No amount of wild poppies
Or sun baked desert sands
Could stand the tests of time
That were surpassed by a set of charitable hands
No amount of tears today, or in the years to come
Could bring this heaven bound soul back to its earthly home
Dry those eyes the mountains would say
And live YOUR best life and choose instead to seize this moment
And to truly seize the day.

Rain
Breathless, Senseless
-Dancing in the rain –
Flowing, Glowing, Drops of Rain –
Drizzling, Fizzling
-Puddles of rain –
Breathtaking, Rule Breaking
-Dancing naked in the rain-
Sparkling, Journey Embarking
-Drops of cold rain
Reflecting, Care neglecting
-Puddles of fallen rain
Whirling, Twirling
-A newly freed woman dancing naked in the rain
Glistening, Soul Christening
-Drops of heart renewing rain
Pooling, Soothing
-Puddles of fallen summer rain.

Ever stand in a room
With all the lights turned brightly on
And still thrust out your hands to feel
Your way through the darkness?
No single object is laden there to bar the way upon the floor
But tumble and fall like a toddling child
You did-
before you reached the door –
Not once, not twice, but thrice or four times more.
Each time groping and searching the darkness –
only to land on the cold hard floor.
With open eyes, it’s clearer now,
But the darkness still persists
Frustration interrupts concentration
And the easier voice within your head pleads with you to cease and desist
Your heart echoes loudly, ‘Don’t give up!’ before the crack
of light beneath the door is suddenly cast out.
The strength is fleeting from your fingers, from your toes –
From your senses, your eyes, your ears, your nose
Darkness now, more than ever before
Presents a stumbling block between you and your goal; the opening of the door.
The floor envelopes your feet and trudging on is hopeless
but the fear that anchors you
Gives way to unrelenting focus.
Finally the door – the destination is near, the voices of laughter and
the tears of joy on the other side reignite your fear.
It’s been so long since you could hear, the joy of life and the passion
of love
And the sounds awaken your sleeping ear.
A smile lits upon your face,
The warmth of the world outside the darkness
Stamps impatiently in place
Waiting on you is not life’s’ favorite thing to do
So get to the door before more fear driven demons of the dark your path ensue
–
Grasp tightly – the cold brass knob, it’s a choice now, - do what
you wish
It’s either the light or the darkness.
It’s always been a choice – you see it clearly now
Let go the knob or open wide – the choice is now.
